What we do
Spacious Aviaries set in Open Gardens

We are large in size but we are not jam packed full of stressed birds, as it sadly appears to be the case with some other large rescues. We have very large separate enclosures scattered throughout the garden, for the larger birds.
We also have a very, very large aviary for parakeets. Please note we do not mix large and small species, and we do not put birds with behavioural problems with other quieter birds. Our birds are not only healthy but they are also happy, content, living in conditions that resemble, as much as reasonably possible, their natural habitat
The Accomodation :)
The Large Parakeet Aviary

The size of the aviary is approx. 70ft x 42ft x 12ft; so very very large. There is also an indoor room in the aviary, measuring 10ft x 7ft x 7ft, for the birds to roost at night during the colder nights. There are 20 parakeets living in the aviary altogether, and what a pleasure it is to sit and watch them fly free from one end of the aviary to the other and do their little parroty things ..
The Macaw Aviary

We have several seprate aviaries for the different species and to keep the large birds away from the little ones. These include Amazons, Cockatoos, African Greys and our precious Macaws.
Everyone has a room with a view. At no extra cost !
Rehoming
Currently we have some capacity for some of the smaller species, such as conures. We have a couple of little flocks of conures cohabitating happily in our aviary, as well as other types of parakeets.
In order to allow the birds to acclimatise, we only take them in from first week in March to the last week in August. The process is straightforward, usually a period of quarantine of around one month. However, the individual needs of each bird are discussed and taken in their own right.
